As grandiose slogans go, Kerala “God’s Own Country” -an assertion of divine provenance that loudly proclaims and embarks on their heritage, people, culture, omnism, literacy, and values. Kairali of Baltimore is continuously enriching the value of “Kerala” within the malayalee community living in the state of Maryland.
Kairali brings the sense of being a “Keralite” within when they meet for Onam (Mahabali Aagamanam) and Christmas celebrations every year that includes a taste of Keralite foods and various Indian art forms. When Kerala was at a crossroads of crisis, our members through the strength of their selfless contributions made Kairali a proud “aid-sponsor.”I am privileged to serve as the 2021 treasurer for “Kairali of Baltimore” that elevates the mission, vision and value of a true “Keralite” and welcome all members to this beautiful experience.

Kairali Picnic 2021
Kairali of Baltimore organized the community picnic on 17th of July 2021. It was held at Alpha Ridge Park, Marriottsville, MD. The event was very successful with around 200 attendees. Numerous games were organized for the adults and kids. This was our first outdoor event in the last 2 years since COVID hit. It was a great joy to see people come out in great numbers to be able to see their friends after being isolated for so long. The little kids enjoyed candy picking and Lemon race while the adults had fun with musical chair, Vadamvali etc. Winners of Throw ball and Volley ball competition received the rolling Trophies and cash prizes. People enjoyed barbecued chicken, hot dogs, burgers along with plenty of vegetables and fruits. It also happened to be a very hot day with showers towards afternoon. But nothing could dampen the spirit of our resilient Kairali family who thoroughly enjoyed every challenge. It validated the saying that life is not about waiting for the rain to stop but it’s about learning to dance in the rain. We are looking forward to many more fun events with you in future. Until then stay safe.
